Defining Crowe’s Eye Photography
The Photographers
Crowe's Eye Photography is the work of John Crowe and Joslyn Virgin Crowe, a husband and wife team photographing weddings and portraits.
Educated as fine art photographers, both John and Joslyn began their careers as students of photography, later assisting and continuing to learn the path of a working photographer in independent jobs and self employment. In 2004 their paths met and John and Joslyn begin to shape their experience into a business, fusing their fine art background with a desire to serve the needs of individuals.
The Photograph
Having a camera and a lens is an invitation to explore. The eye is used to see moments unfold, pursuing the possibilities of light and designing the composition. In the end, the photograph reflects the decisive moments and choices made by the photographer. Noticing details, the essence of a particular place and forming a literary response is part of the natural sight we develop as photographers.
Artistically, we embrace reality and indulge in the light reflecting from it, holding still what will never be again, storing memories, expressions, feelings, people and places for tomorrow.
The Inspiration
Photographing life inspires all elements of our work, each wedding or portrait being the opportunity to capture realism and truth. In photographing such an intimate occasion such as a wedding or portrait, the moments of time where the substance of life is revealed is what makes our jobs so rewarding. These life time moments of honesty and power are what you want to remember, and so, unobtrusively, we photograph the emotions unrehearsed. What results is a tangible reflection of your life.
The Shoot — using only high caliber ammunition
Our photographic style invites inspiration from fashion and lifestyle. Defining the elements of time, location and purpose in relationship to your wedding day or portrait session allows us to turn our focus to the fine art of photographing and composing with your personality in mind once the shooting begins. Utilizing our time and creativity in this efficient way gives freedom for a more successful and enjoyable experience.
