Living Land

It was something like being in a Mary Oliver poem, fleeting sun and quiet noises below the leaves... and in between, no, within each moment, we uncovered other moments.  Stories, beauty, past lives, future plans, numbered trees, newer sprouts, soulful glances, historical pathways, honeybee lanes, homestead memories . . . oh, and yes, fashionable ladies playing with us as we leapt into our day away from it all.  It is a good day when I can ride through the woods while stories are told of long ago, of Oaks planted in rows, where exactly the dogs like to run . . . and this with my anticipation of photographing at leisure.  We ended the day talking about the trees, a precious sunset indeed. Thank you Katherine and Rebecca, foresters and preservers of your own living tales.  Patricksburg, IN, it was so nice to meet you.  That mystical spell the land can cast has fallen heavy on my shoulders.  Here are some shots of the land, more of the lady . . . they start to cross paths.

Sarah and David

You wouldn't imagine that The Sanctuary of Nancy Noel's art work could become even heavier with spirit than it is on any given day in Zionsville, but once you add the love of two young sweethearts, the sentiments of a very poetic father, the decor of an extremely meaningful ceremony and the colors of the suns rays on one of the hottest days of the year, well, you are so full of spirit by this time that nothing better describes where you are than "sanctuary," a sacred place.  Sarah and David married amongst beautiful paintings, admiring friends and supportive family members . . . and for every story told there was an equally important memory made.  Congratulations you two, may you always find the comfort, reverie and love you need in one another.

Marcus and Katie

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue . . . Vintage and lovely, the entire wedding felt like a blossoming of something more beautiful around every corner.  From Katie's perfect chidhood home to the storybook neighborhood church of Edison Park, and the gorgeous reception room of the Sunset Ridge Country Club, this was a wedding to let steap slowly.  Congratulations to all who helped bring this couple to one another;  I feel very honored to have been part of their wedding day, a witness to their marriage and tenderness to one another.  Once again, blessed is my role to capture this love, and as you can see, the cup for these two runneth over.  Enjoy these favorites as I wade through the others. "Marriage, like the useful bee, builds a house and gathers sweetness from every flower, sends out colonies and feeds the world with delicacies . . ."         Jeremy Taylor
