Where to begin in sharing how whole-heartedly wonderful this wedding day was! Honestly, it was one of those weddings that felt nothing of a job and everything of a gifted, blessed experience. The long awaited day began with a calm, focused spirit gracing Bridget and Jason, and just the right amount of excitement and eagerness brewing as the time for the ceremony neared. Even in the midst of having to make difficult decisions over many, many months of delay with the date, their efforts to reveal who they are, where they come from and where they will go were tied into the day from start to finish. Every detail carried purpose and meaning, every emotion genuine, every guest meant to be, and each aspect of the day reflecting a textured, rich, long and loving story. So much goodness was overflowing in quiet, lasting ways and filtering into the tradition or scene, documenting it all in from behind the lens was truly an honor. Heirlooms took precedence over perfection, family became the on site vendor team, far away lands came to sit in the quaint dining room, and roots were brought up to meet wings in ways that deepened an understanding of what their particular love story is made of. Bridget wore her grandmother’s altered dress, Jason wore his Uncle’s shoes, the wedding rings were personal and unique in every way, the one of a kind cuff links, Jason’s very fine hand tailored suit, the Hungarian paper and dried flowers applied by family at the table settings, the homemade (DELICIOUS) jam and cookies made by Bridget’s mother, the (GORGEOUS) bouquets and centerpieces by Jason’s mother, and the sweet, sweet song Bridget’s father sang in a voice familiar and comforting, all adding layer after layer of why this wedding day was as endearing as it was. Jason and Bridget brought to life an evening none there will forget, and the kind of wedding a romance as full as theirs is worthy of having. So grateful we are to have this family in our lives, and to share in celebrating and documenting this special day.
