You know those wedding days where you have a little bit more excitement going on in your heart than usual, well this was definitely one of those for us. Classy, gorgeous, down to earth while still so dapper, and dancing shoes on from the start. Mariel has always been an image of grace and all around beauty to work with, it just seems to rest so easy on her, and never more striking than on this day. Virgil and his handsome crew brought a fresh look to the men’s attire with their personalized Nikes, well suited for the day ahead, and to begin, the wait for his lovely bride. Smiles came quickly and naturally under the overcast sky as they greeted one another. The romance and eagerness to be married looked so, so pretty and every color of the bouquet just as right as the rain that had fallen shortly beforehand. These sweet moments were followed up with the laughter of the wedding party and meaningful hugs of all kinds; a pretty great scenario for working out some of the nerves before show time! The colorful theater wall of the Phoenix, the window light streaming in, a quieting of the heart, and finally, the ceremony was to begin. Chairs full of their favorite audience, and a stage set with their best cast. There couldn’t have been a better playbill. Celebration was immediate, dancing off the stage in joy and into the arms of their new families and welcoming friends. Just before the grand entrance to their reception, we hurried back to the stage and shared some of what have come to be my favorite moments of the day. Taking it all in with one another, a stage of their own. The reception was full of reunions, embraces, loving sentiments and even gifts in the shape of a prepared dance performance by the pros of DK. Generous laughter was in the air, good times were being had and the floor was never empty of making sure these two were given and evening to remember. We couldn’t have been happier nor more honored to photograph Mariel and Virgil’s wedding day, sharing the lovely view alongside the talented vendors that helped to make it so.
